Illustrators working with companies to create products

I often notice illustrated patterns on fabric, blank journals, notebooks, totes, bedding, and so on. I have wondered who creates these patterns, especially if they appear hand-drawn. Well, professional illustrators, of course! Like graphic designers, the illustrators who work with companies who print their illustrations on their products don't get their name out there, usually. You don't often see an artist's signature. But c'est la vie. Hopefully they are getting paid well for their wonderful work!

On Behance, I found a company called Hola Bosque, Graphic Design & Illustration Studio from Buenos Aires, Argentina (company website) who create some really fun and creative patterns that are used in various ways. I thought it would be fun to post some of their work, both alone and then shown on the product.

The way I found the Behance page was through Pinterest when I saw this eye-catching image. I LOVE bright colors on a black background. Also, Oaxaca caught my eye; it's a city in Mexico, and the artisans from there who carve and paint little wooden animals are fantastic. I have a collection of Oaxacan animals!

So I looked further and traced the image to Behance. Here's a similar image.

And check out how cool they look on notebooks!

Here are some more of their illustrations turned into marketable products:

How fun would it be to illustrate for a studio like this?

So fun! I would totally love to do stuff like this.

I really enjoyed looking through the company portfolio. The links are at the top. It's inspiring to me! I love hand-drawn illustration!
